EMAIL THE AUHSD BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Email the Anaheim Union High School District Board Members urging them to agree to the Mejia family’s requests. This is an email template:

Dear AUHSD Board Members,

I am reaching out to request your support in taking immediate and meaningful action following recent events that have exposed serious gaps in student safety, accountability, and emotional support at Lexington JHS.

With your influence and advocacy, we have an opportunity to create sustainable change that will help prevent future tragedies and honor the memory of Mia Mejia, who attended Lexington JHS during the 2024–2025 school year.

Mia’s parents, Gustavo and Veronica Mejia, have submitted the following requests, which I fully support:

  • Launch an immediate and independent investigation into all individuals that engaged in discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying against Mia Mejia.
  • Take appropriate disciplinary action, including dismissal where warranted, based on the investigation’s findings.
  • Ensure transparency and systemic reform to address the root causes of these failures.
  • Establish a bereavement support group for Mia Mejia’s friends and classmates across the school district. The group must be led by qualified mental health professionals.
  • Provide specialized training and education from organizations dedicated to suicide prevention and anti-bullying for all students, staff and parents.
  • Create a permanent year-round Anti-Bullying & Suicide Prevention Program in Mia Mejia’s honor, with mandatory participation, dedicated funding, and clear reporting and intervention protocols.

Your support and implementation of the Mejia family’s requests would be instrumental in strengthening student safety, restoring trust, and demonstrating our community’s shared commitment to protecting every child.

Thank you,
